I'm currently writing regular articles for PC Answers, Windows Vista Magazine, Birmingham City Official Match Day Magazine and the BBC Countryfile Magazine web site. I'm also serving as a technical consultant on Microsoft Windows XP Magazine. Other magazines for whom I write on a semi-regular basis are: Your Family Tree, BBC Who Do You Think You Are?, Computeractive, plus I'm writing occasional tips features for the Tech Radar web site.

I have also recently undertaken commercial work for Dell Outlet (business e-shot series) and GX Networks.

SupportPCs

The SupportPCs web site is a co-venture between fellow tech journalist Joe Cassels and myself. It's a repository for many of our previously published articles for various computer titles where we retain copyright and gain non-exclusive rights to our content six months after its original publication. This is the best place to come to if you wish to evaluate my unsubbed copy prior to contacting me.

I've recently completed a major redesign of the site from the ground up using my own customised Content Management System. It's based around HTML, CSS, PHP and a series of Microsoft Access databases (converted to MySQL), and its purpose is to make it easier to add and edit content independently of the site design. I'm using the following tools: Microsoft Access (for the content), DBQwikSite Pro (for the generation of the database-driven pages), Notepad++ (for HTML, PHP and CSS coding by hand) and SoftGalaxy's AccessMySQLConverter for converting and uploading the databases to the site. This also enables me to embed HTML links into database content without it breaking on conversion to MySQL format.
